S-10 Brakes

Hi can anyone help me.
I have a 2000 S-10 4x4 pickup and replaced the rear disc brake pads and they squeal and heat up.
Need to install new pads again any ideas why this is happening?

Read something about the piston in the calipers that have to be turned to go back in fully. Might check with the guys at www.chevytalk.com and see if you can get a reply about this. Couple GM guys there.

Have you checked the e-brake cables? If they're frozen or binding up they will cause the rear brakes to drag.

Just did rear brakes on my 98.The pistons on it go right in without turning and pushing at the same time.Check E-brake cable or the sliders on the calipers.The sliders can rust and stick,thus making the brakes hang up.My one caliper had one of the sliders rusted and it hung up.

Hey thanks to all I just had them fixed and the caliper was hanging up slightly. (This is a great site for car and truck help)

I kinda figured that.Mine did the same thing.

I have the same problem on my 98. But only on the right side. I lubed the caliper but this didn´t help. It seems that when I press the brake pedal the piston engages and stays nearly in this position but doesn´t release. What can I do ??? Thank you.
