Im wondering on what is the best way and best selection of parts i could buy for building my 98 gsr. I;m running about 7 intercooled psi on a stock b18c and my goal is to boost somewhere between 18-20 psi. I know i need low compression pistons(im thinking 9:0:1) and new rods along with a sleeve job, but thats about it....couls you guys please give me some help with what is the best compression and to run this kind of boost at and what specs i need for the products required...a 300 hp street car is what im aiming at so any help would be great, thanks alot guys....

here is a post that i just posted to another person, i hope this helps. i would recomend going with eagle rods also, and they should not cost you any more than $299 + s&h. after all of this i put a set of crower stage 3 turbo cams in with the ti spring and retainer kit, WOW that made a HUGE difference, did not get dyno #'s after that though. crower only shows a stage 2 cam set but if you are willing to wait they will make bigger ones for you it took me 7 months to get mine!!!

on my b18b i ran srp 9.5 comp pistons, arp headstuds, cometic head gasket and a drag turo kit with a T04-E 54 trim, rc 310 cc injectors, rage motorsports fmu 7.5-1 rise, SAFC, everything else stock, dynoed from 294-310 atw consistantly. the turbo would start to make boost just over 2500 and i had full boost just past 4000, of coarse anytime i need full boost i would just pop the clutch and there the tires go... !! haha

point is the compression of your engine, the target hp, and how you will be using the car are the 3 main factors of turbo sizing.

at our shop we use this rule of thumb:
for a street car:
-non vtec preffered but not nessecary "smoother power delivery, easier to tune.
-compression no lower than 9-1 prefferably between 9.5 & 10.5
make boost quicker and easier, will not have to be in boost to make enough power to drive and pull out, also if you to pop an ic pipe off you will still have more than enough power to drive.

for a race car:
-low compression and lots of boost with a big f'n turbo. haha
