Okay, I have a question that may be flamed, but I just read the thread about the guy with the d15b2 with 65k on it, and I have been thinking lately, if I saved up a little bit of money, and put a cam and cam gears in it, and get an actual cold air instead of short ram intake, and get headers and real exhaust, I could turbo it right? I know its just a d15 but I want to know really. And what kind should I get, I mean I've seen DIY kits on ebay for the d16y7, could that fit my car since all d series parts are interchangeable or am I going to have to do it all myself. I know its gonna be weak, but what kinda hp gains might I be looking at. I mean, is it gonna get me to 130 or so at say...6-7 psi? I just wanted to know, I was thinking about it, and I havent heard of many, if ANY built d15's, and I think it'd be funny, yet cool to have a boosted d15 that could stay with some other swaps. I know I'd have to swap for MPFI, but can anyone shed some light on this situation. If you must flame...flame, I know its almost worthy of flames, but at least I'm not asking about something gay and retarded like carbon fiber headlight covers or something. Please someone help, I'd like to know.

the b2 should be able to deal with the streses. i had a b2 turbo at one time. ran a t28 @8psi...dynoed in at 147whp and 155ft lbs tq. it held up for about 2 years till i decided to turn up the boost and ended up sending 2 rods out the block. this was in a 90 hf so it was multiport with si intake mani...pm6, crower cam, and the kit was built with junkyard parts aside the t28. as far as having to switch to mpfi, it would be a good idea but i have seen dpfi turboed with 2 additionaly fuel injectors added in. i think 130 hp is very reasonable at 7psi in a b2....thing i enjoyed about the turbo was the massive addition of tq. that car would get up n go. i gave quite a few beatings to b16's.

Alright, so you turned the boost up to 8 psi, and threw two rods huh? So what could you have done to prevent that, I mean, what internals could you have gotten to prevent that? I'm kinda new on the whole boost option, so I dont know. What can you do to turn up the boost safely? Whats the highest boost you can run? I've heard that you dont have to get an intercooler for a turbo setup, but I want to get an FMIC to stay on the safe side. Can anyone help me out a bit?

And is there any head that I can swap on my d15 block? Possibly the d16 or a vtec head? What could I use?

all sohc 88-2000 will work with the b2, some with minor mods. 8psi is what i ran on the street, the rods gave out at 12psi. to help prevent that you can get forged rods/pistons, better rod bearings(i suggest) you dont absolutly need an i/c at low boost say around 5-6psi, but it well help to keep detonation down. highest boost.....couldnt tell ya on that one. lots to consider, internals, fuel managment n such. check out homemadeturbo.com .....they can be of better assistance

The general rule is for every 1psi=10hp. This is give or take though. Naturally a big turbo will make more and a smaller turbo will make less. You probably want to go with a small turbo setup. I say a TDO5 or TDO4, maybe even a IHI. Wish you were thinking this about two weeks ago. I sold my entire turbo kit, would have let you had it for $300. Anyways, if you want an intercooler you can also use a side mount. Front mounts are nice and work well, but a side mount would be better if you want a sleeper. Speaking of if you decide to go turbo I still have my side mount that I would let you have for a little of nothing. Our rods are only good for 200-220 hp.
So low boost is a good idea on factory internals.

Now if you upgrade your rods and pistons and a few small things here and there you can run no telling how much boost. Had a friend run 30psi on his eclipse with a 20g turbo with JE SRP pistons. Sorry for the long post. Bottom line low boost with good tuning you will be fine. Go for some forged internals and you can turn the boost up.

K, if I want to swap for a DOHC ZC before turbo, I can get a longblock for 550, but what tranny can I use? Where can I find them?

The ZC is a d-series, it will bolt up to your tranny. Or you can use the ZC tranny (I have one for sale $150) But then you need to get 90-93 integra axles and intermediate shaft.
