Driving down road when suddenly the engine dies, all the guages peg, lights go out, radio clicks loudly, car bucks for a moment, then all is well and car keeps running. Sometimes so bad car stalls completely and then needs to be restarted. Battery seems to have plenty of juice still.

Thank you to all of you nice people who responded with ANY kind of advice. NOT. I found what the problem was by myself, and I certainly will not be sharing it with any of you.

I just join this forum and was suprised to find someone who is having the same problem. Are you sure your not willing to share what you found out?

Its funny this guys was such an @$$ that he wouldnt give me any suggestions on what to look for. I finally figured out what was causing the problem in my Transport and figured I would be nice and share it with all anyways.

The nut on the aux positive post next to the ABS relay had worked itself loose, it was bairly loose but it was enough to allow the wires bolted there to cut out. All it took was a little tighting and I havent had a problem since.

The problem on my car was the heat shield on the forward exhaust manifold had rusted loose and was rubbing a battery cable to the point of shorting it out occasionally when I hit a bump. Due to the rust buildup the short was only intermittent.
I chose not to reply to your original question because I was pissed that nobody had stepped up with any advice for me. I am sorry I took it out on you.

From time to time some unheard of problem shows on this forum. Those who have no clue choose to avoid wild guessing and misleading so obviously the one who introduced the new problem is the one who eventually solves the problem and shares his findings. THat is the way the fraternity works.

Thank you for the reply. I was beginning to wonder if AF was still active. I have a question posted in the H2 Hummer forum and have received no replies there.
I know wildguesses are usually just that, wild, but any input is usually better than no input. Those of us savvy enough can discern those guesses that actually have some merit.

My 1995 3.8 has the same temporary cut-out problem. Where is the ABS relay located? I have checked MANY connections but may have missed this one. 2 different dealers haven't been any help. When it happens the freakin' gages go crazy.

Please check the date(s) of the thread before posting and avoid posting in thoe threads over 3 months old. As an additional comment to the above discussion, I find that not every active member visits this forum on a regular basis. Therefore, it may take a week or 10 days to get a response from someone who may know the answer, or could help out. Also, someone may stumble across the same problem, and figure out a solution and post back in a short while. It pays to check back every so often to see if there are any new posts to your thread(s). But keep in mind,, those that are more difficult, or obscure may take a bit longer.
