A friend of mine just aquired a 2001 nissan sentra SE with the 1.8 4 banger. The throtle randomly sticks to where she has to just about kick the accelerator to get it to move. it's not the pedal, i checked that out. is there a quick fix?

Well first, which is it? An SE or a 1.8? The SE comes with a 2.0, it even says "SE 2.0" on the back of the car, the 1.8 comes on the XE and GXE.
Have you checked the actual throttle cable in the engine bay to see if it's sticking there?

whoops, it's an XE. She said her accelerator was sticking, and that there was a wierd spring underneath the accelerator. I checked that out, it was fine. I popped the hood and tried to move the throtle with my fingers. I thought maybe i had mistake whatever i was tugging on for the throtle when i couldn't move it, so i asked her to step on the gas so i could see something move. she said it was real stiff, and pretty much had to kick it to get it to move. this was also with the engine running. it wasn't the cable, i tugged on it from the other end right next to the throtle.

You have carbon build up at your intake manifold (throttle body butterfly). If still under warrantee, take it to Nissan, they did mines for free. If not, get your self a can of intake cleaner and clean it. That should fix your problem.

Great, thanks a lot. I don't know if it's under warranty, but i'll definetly try the intake cleaner.
