I bought my 89 Turbo MK3 for $2,300 and spent about 2 grand fixing it. this is almost 4,500 spent on the car. It now has a bhg, at the early stage. Would it be best to fix the car, spend more money, and make it fast? or to just get rid of it? i really like the car, but feel that the car breaks down too much. i think i should keep it, but i just wanna konw what others think. the car is an automatic. I love my supra, and wanna fix it, but am afraid that it might break down again, resulting into more money spent. thanks for listening and for any responses.

If you have a passion for the car then money shouldn't be an issue, eventually you'll replace all the parts and have one relible car. You have to realize MKIII's are getting old, just like any car parts will wear out. By the way how did you spend $2K fixing it and not replace the HG? A full engine rebuild is only about $1K tops then add another 300 for the MHG/ARP's and machine work.

i dunno, i made the mistake of not getting a mhg when i bought a used engine. when i said 2k fixing it, i meant repairs to pass smog, replaced starter, bought used engine, shop labor to put engine in, and parts and labor for repairs on the two hoses that were torn. i do want to fix the car, so im just waiting for my check to come in like 3 weeks.

I'm in the same trouble your in. I blew my head gasket and I have no choice but to ride around like that. I have about 5K invested (2500 in tranny, 1500 for car, and 1000 in parts and labor). I was just convinced that suping up the 7MGE isnt worth it cuz you cant get enough horse outta it. I want to be able to compete with mustangs and camaros. I NEED over 300hp. I'm thinking about a conversion. I know a guy that can do it for $2750. His website is 4cefed.com. Check it out.

2500 in a tranny?? Holy crap I hope the insides are made of platnum. Forcefedracing is Dr. J's place, he does conversions but he doesn't do anything that you couldn't do yourself, unless you can't turn a wrench :grinno: Add it up, I've listed everything you need to do the swap countless times on this forum, find a wrecked/junked turbo with BHG and get everything you need. Yes your exactly right, souping up an N/A is a waste of time and money, I mean I love my tuned n/a and I love blowing away V6 rustanks, slowmaros, and every honduh in town, but it doesn't even compare to a Turbo Supra or a slightly modded 5.0. By the way your driving around with BHG?? You had better park the car now before you totally destroy the engine that's in it, every rotation breaks it down and warps parts further, eventually to the point where it's scrap.
