I'm doing a project on formula 1 racing and have a few questions. I'm looking for innovations that have originated from formula 1 and are now found in production cars. I'm also looking for a list of all the companies that race, there are 11 right? Also, i remember hearing that an F1 car's engine can rev up to 17000rpm's, but some other sites i read said they only go up to 7000rpm? Thanks for the help.

Innovations include all sorts of safety features, pbviously performance of the engine, suspension, etc, disc brakes (could have beeen introduced at lemans, but developed largely in F1), traction control, even launch control on some newer cars, active suspension, and that's just scratching the surface. For the list of "companies" go to any F1-related website, F1 engines are revving to 19000 rpm (probably will be slightly less this season).
