The VR-4 would win til 60MPH, then the Supra pulls away.
With AWD (the VR-4), it loses it's advantage as soon as the opposing RWD/FWD car has traction.

Its a drivers race. The cars are equally matched through the quarter and the driver is the biggest variable.

Roughly matched.
Weight really hurts in 1/4 mile.

Well the hp rating is the same, but the 3000GT\stealth weights more and the power band is completely differant the supra has an L6 with sequencial twin turbos, and the 3000GT\stealth is a V6 non sequencial setup...and the supra is probaly more efficient because it runs one single intercooler apposed to two..based on stock for stock #'s the supra should run 13.3-13.7 consistanly and the 3000GT\stealth should run a 14.0-14.3 consistanly...I do beleive drivers matter but if it was all equal than the supra would come out on top

Where are you getting your stats, my 96 vr4 runs 13.5-6s consistently, stock.

he's thinking of the 1st gen vr4's. obviosly he doesn't know that the 2nd gen run 13.5 on a regular. thats the reason yogs said its a drivers race which it is. they both run about 13.5 as a regular time

even though the dodge is the same thing, the 3000gt is a faster car, there are some stuff that is diffrent. trany, turbos. and still the 91 to 93 3000gt still are in the 13.5 14sec

were you saying that the tranny and turbos were different between 1st generation + 2nd generation cars(accounting for the 2nd gens being faster) or where you saying that Stealths have different turbos and trannys then GTs, because I'm pretty sure they're the same between the 2 cars. I don't think the 3kgts are faster then the stealths, and if they are, I would assume its a slight difference in weight due to different styling(exterior). I'm pretty sure that the turbos and trannys were identical between the 2 cars.

not so. the turbos were the same on all years of 3000 GT VR-4's and all years of stealth TT's. they are td04 (h i believe) 9b turbos. the tranny's did change for both the stealth and the 3000 GT in the 94 model year so they now had 6 speeds and a 25 spline output shaft (the 25 spline output shaft came on the 5 speeds in late 92 and 93 as well though).
also, for the same model year of stealth and 3kgt, if anything, the stealth would be a little tiny tiny bit faster because they are a bit lighter because they do not have as many cool gizmos like the active aero.
stock supra vs. 3kgt assuming 2nd gen 3kgt (power difference is only due to higher stock boost on the 2nd gens by the way) will, as has been said, be a driver's race. if they go for any distance shorter than a 1/4, the 3kgt should win because it has a big off the line traction advantage. anything longer than a 1/4, the supra should win because it is a little lighter and has a lower drive train loss because it is only RWD and not AWD. everything i am saying also applies to the stealth and of course i am only comparing the turbo models.
