K24 into 88 Crx

A friend of mine here in mexico, wants to have a fast car for a relatively cheap price. He found a crx here in mexico (they were never sold here) for 800 US dollars, it is a 1988 model.

He was wondering if a k24 from an accord, year 2003+ will fit as a swap into a 88 crx. I know it may sound crazy but he wants a relatively cheap engine that will make the rex go fast. I dont know if mounts exist for a crx to hold a k24 but who knows.

Any other ideas as to what cheap and fast engines could go in a Crx 88.

www.hasport.com is in the process of making a K series mount for the 4th gen civic/crx line. if your boy can hold out for a few months then it should work. i have the 03 accord and the k24 hauls ass in that, i cant imagine what it would do in a little crx, 160hp and 161TQ

any b-series engine would be crazy fast in a crx, just because of it being a small car. a nice swap in the rex would be a b20 with a b16 head on there. talk about torque.

What numbers would you get with that setup. At sealevel. With an 88 crx with an 03 k24 from an accord? low 14s?

the only point i was actually tryin to get across was if K20 mounts would work with a K24 engine jus out of curiosity...

well according to automotive shops, they have different part numbers for the mounts, so i dont think it would swap over on K20 mounts.

if the mounts were to come out what axles would you use ? cause thats interesting cause im saling my hatch and im getting a rex for 600 dollars and im gonna have like 6 grand for the motor alone :evillol: id like a k20 the jdm type r motor so does anyone know about some axels coming out maybe even a wiring harness.

im sure as soon as hasport has worked out all the bugs, they will have all the info on their site.

to take a guess, id say 03 civic Si axels.
