Over the course of nearly a year I experienced odd shutdowns of accessories (Radio/Cd, Cruise Control/ shifting indicator) accompanied by "check engine" indicator, and unresponsive faltering engine. Repeatedly had analysis at various automotive shops.
Each time it coded for the TPS, Each time replaced it, sometimes it would correct problem for a short period of time, sometimes it didn't.
Finally a tech ordered the original replacement part through a GMC dealer instead of through an automotive parts store. Problem now resolved.
Other replacement TPS were being influenced by heat. Comparing original equipment part with replacement parts obtained through NAPA, CarQuest, etc shows an obvious difference in construction.
