The search engine is not workin for me, so if anyone has any hints or suggestions for the compressor remove/install it would be appreciated.
I have posted before about the white smoke phnomenon, and I had suggestions, but what I found was it was coming from the serpintine belt area, and now (6 weeks, and very few miles later) a loud noise was reported by my wife, really sounds like one of the pulleys is going. Looking at it it looks as though the Air Compressor is burnt just inside
the serp belt area. The book suggests having the system discharged or purged by a Pro, is this nessacery if the AC has been inoperable for years? My sister gave me the van with the ac out, and no smoke or problems were reported by her.
Thanks, Dez
