I was looking in the paper last night and I found 2 1989 Mustangs. 1 was a LX 5.0 Notch for $3500 that needs minor work, (may get it depending on the "minor work"). The other is a 4cyl LX notch suposedly in great condition for $3800. Both cars are auto. But the 4cyl car already has 4 wheel disc breaks and 5 lug conversion. The delema here is that I would have to sell my truck to get either one of these cars and I couldnt see myself riding around in a 4cyl that wouldnt get out of its own way until i got my engine ready to drop in. Decisions Decisions! :banghead:

$3,800 is way too much for a 4cyl FOX, I don't care what he has done to it, not worth it. Take a look at the Notch, and see whats up with it.

It's raining hard today but I may try to go see the 5.0 anyway. If you dont mind me asking HiFlow, about how much $ do you think you spent on your trans and what has been done to it? I like the idea of having a C-4 but if I drive this car more than 2 days a week the gas will kill me not having an OD.

Just out of curiosity HiFlow what does your car run in the 1/4 and how much hp/torque do you think your putting on the ground?

My trans cost me $200. I bought it used, the previous owner converted to a 5 speed and just wanted to dump the AOD, so I got a great deal. It was fully rebuilt buy a performance shop and a TCI street fighter torque converter added about 15k miles before I bought it. I've had it now for 2 years and it still performs perfect, even with my beting on it.

So far my personal best in the 1/4 mile is 13.6 at 103 mph with a 2.2 60ft time. I hope to hit 13 flat this spring as I improve my style and suspension. Or if I convert to 5 speed, I think I should be able to hit high 12's with practice.
