Sylvania Light Bulbs

Has anyone tryed the SilverStar headlight bulbs? What do you think? I do a lot of night driving in the mountains would these help visibility? Also how do I install on a 1997 GMC Z71? Do I need the low beam (9006) and High beam (9005).

I haven't used those bulbs before. But I know how to change them, with your hood open remove the two bolts I have circled in the picture(Hopefully they're not stripped out) then you can wiggle the headlamp assembly out and change bulbs

I put the low beams on my 90 Z 24 and they are putting more light out than the hi beams. Its clear white light that lights up the ditches like fogs do. I didn't get to try the hi's yet since I plowed a couple kids on a snowmobile right after that and mangled the front end including the light assemblies. The Silverstars came through fine though so they are tough. Look on the Sylvania website for the bulb reference chart. I got the best deal buying them on Ebay in pairs. $36 shipped bought in pairs ( my car uses 4 so duals are cheaper yet) They don't need any wiring upgrade or any modifications whatsoever and are completely legal. I read around that if your lights are set too high that they are absolutely lethal to oncoming traffic so make sure they are set up right.
In my limited experience I would highly recommend them even though they are pricy.

i will agree that the silverstars are really nice id say better then my piaa high beams
