Everyone and their dog seems to be doing this kit right now. I've bucked trend and done it in black. I'm not quite done but I just wanted to post a pic or two of the body which I'm most proud of.
After sanding through to the primer in three spots I gave it another coat of black and skipped on the clear coat that I said I was going to put on. I just took it easy on the sanding and put some extra effort into using the rubbing compound. I then gave it a coat of Zymol auto polish.
I hope to have some final pics in the next day or two.

Lookin good so far! The shine seems fine!
Don't forget to do the windscreen surround in a semi gloss black.
I take it you are going for the red leather?

Thanks!
I know I still need to finish the detail on the body.
Red leather? Of course.

Yep, looks superb! The passenger side button is red also, the one just behind the gearstick!
I noticed that when I drove one!

What did you spray the dash with? It looks perfect!
Also I see what you mean about the leather effect on the seats! Super!
The badges will look great against the black!
Make sure you read my thread to spot the omissions in the instructions!
The indicators should be clear on the RHD model, and there is a black rubber section on the bumper above the exhausts.

For the dash I used your basic Tamiya Semi-gloss black through an air brush.
I think I'll paint the side markers yellow regardless. I'm not as picky for accuracy as you. :) ...as long as it looks OK I'm happy.
The part about the rubber/plasic section above the mufflers...SON OF A BITCH. I was looking at that when I maked the body. Here I am thinking that looks like something that should be semi-gloss black. Well I missed spraying the licence plate on the RX-7 so maybe I'll mask it off and paint that too. Although on black paint it's very subtle.

Well here it is the final product. I'm VERY happy with it and is definatly my best model to date! Still lots of little thinks I skimped on but I'll pick them up with experience. My biggest goal was getting a top notch paint job and I think I hit my target.
Well enough lamenting...here's the pic I'll bet you all have been losing sleep over. :D

Doesn't look scrimped on at all to me! Well done!

Im impressed Jason. Looks good. I think the colour suits the car.
Little tip for you.......paint the inside of the exhaust tips in flat-black so you dont see the silver.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I'll try and get some outside pics the gallery when we get some sun here.
Dan: To answer your question. Yes without a doubt I've learned a tonne and never would have put together a model as well as this.
