My wife has picked up the exacto!!!!!!! She built these two kits almost entirely on her own. I helped with advice on colors and some tips . I helped a little with the cf hood on the Skyline, but she did all the rest. I think she did ok for her first 2 kits. What do you all think??

Damn your wife is talented. I wish my GF liked modeling atleast. Shes always "why do you spend more time on those pices of $hit than you do with me." I only build at night during the weekday.

NOW THAT'S A KEEPER!

my gf bitches the same about spending more time with the plastic than i do with her. but damn, what does she expect...the models never complain about how bad I smell, watching the game or about how I was checking out another piece of plastic

anyway....nice models and give a nice pat on the back. gj

:eek2: Wow! Time to get her an AF screenname :iceslolan - she could teach some of us a thing or two!

My wife usually has other ideas for the X-Acto knife - and it's usually because I spend so much time with my models!

I'm kidding

I think it's actually scientifically proven that a woman has more art skills or more touchiness than a man. I don't know the word for it.. but they are more artistic I think..

I will have to show my wife this thread, maybe then she will get her butt in gear and finish the Skyline she started a year ago.
My wife builds too, when she has the time.

Very nice first couple of models Mrs Privateer, you should be very proud of your work.
I'm in two minds about showing this to my wife, it would be nice to share my hobby with her, but if I do she might figure out how much money I spend on it

Yeah DiGiTaLEcLiPsE, women supposedly have better fine motor skills than men. Just a statistic.

How true. However, I can often tell my girl "Well with all the money I spend on cars, you know I don't have any left to spend on other girls."

Those models are killer. I'm very impressed. They're both better than half my completed collection! Tell her great work, and if she makes any more be sure to keep us in the loop.

My first efforts in modeling were nothing like that!

Wow!

I was expecting some kind of horror story, something like "I came back from work and my wife gave my models to the kids she was babysitting so they could play with them" :grinno: :grinno:

Thanks for all the nice words.....she is working in Tamiya's Starcard Porshce right now. I am helping her less so that she learns more. The black Porsche is kinda giving her fits though.

Just saw this thread. When I first ready 'My wife picked up the exacto...' I thought she was getting back at you for upsetting her :evillol:

But WOW! she has done fantastic work on those two. Way better than anything I did when I was starting model making. Is she gonna keep going with it as a hobby?

Those are great cars! She must have a good coach.

I was fully expecting to see a pic of your underwear with a hole cut out as repayment for you cutting up her lingere for your Porsche.

I'm not trying to steal your (or really your wife's) thunder, Privateer, because those models are great. But I showed my girlfriend this thread and she got all excited and wanted me to post her foray into modelling and I figured I'd post it here instead of a new thread.

She did all herself, just grudgingly taking some pointers from me (and using all my tools!!). I know it's not a car, but she's proud of it. All I know about it is it's a Quibley, a small Gundam. Maybe SD Gundam or something.

Mrs. Privateer thinks that Quibley is really neat. I think your gf did a nice job on it ,but I am not sure what it is. hehehe

BTW She appreciates all the nice words guys.
