fan conversion cheep?

Hello all! I am looking to take out the belt driven fan in my 92 240 it seems like their is also an electric fan behind it is the effecient enough? I do live in the desert :-) If its not what can i replace it with for a cheep price such as dual electric fans. auto zone maby?
I would realy like to do this so i can remove the fan shroud it looks good without it!
