Has anyone had success in locating non-dealer maintenance items, like air filter, transmission fluid, and other routine maintenance items and fluids? Fram has oil filters (as do other companies), but I am yet to find these items at my parts store (Pep Boys, AutoZone, PartsPlus, etc.).

I have an AutoZone next to my house and I get all of my supplies there. I recommend the K&N or Mobil1 filter over the paper/glue Fram. Take one apart and you'll see why the quality is better with the aforementioned. I'd be very cautious with Fram.

The filters are about $10 each but your car will have much cleaner oil.

I believe you can use amsoil transmission fluid for the kia since amsoil said it meet spIII spec if you would like to spend more.
