i had a 1987 pontiac 6000 that could not be destroyed. I ended up donating it to charity and got a tax write of that was waaaay beyond the cars book value. I ended up buying a 96 nissan 200sx Se-R that same year. that was the first car i bought by myself so i like to consider that my first. the pontiac was a hand-me-down that lasted through 2 of my 3 sisters before i got it.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume you're talking about cars

my first was a 1992 Honda Civic DX, but wasn't my choice, parents bought it for me. I finally saved enough money and finally got my first true owned car, a 1995 240sx.

My first was a 1997 Ford Explorer V8 AWD, cause we live in dem der snowy parts of the USA and my parents worry--alot. I did get in a wreck with it- http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=188446. It didn't get damaged bad at all, and nothing bad has hapened to any of our cars since then (and I drive mine daily to school *dangerous*).

My first was a 1993 ford tempo 4 door. I still have it actually but now its my winter beater. Never crashed it, and I think if I did it wouldn't be totaled the things built pretty sturdy.

My first was an '85 Chevy S-10. It was my grandfathers, and I got it while I was still 15. Didn't total it, but it stalled out when I was in reverse and I hit a pole.......twice.

My first is also my current: 89 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Coupe. A true pimpmobile. Sweet ride too, most comfortable back seat I've ever...sat on... I've had it for about 2 and a half years, as I got it before I actually turned 16.

Life Lesson #1 - No one cares about your birthday after the age of 12.
The first car I totalled was a 1994 Mazda 626 2.5L V6 5spd with 116,xxx kms on the board when I was 17.

I've had my first a couple of months before I even got my permit, a 2001 Chevy Blazer LT. My dad couldn't get somebody to buy it, so he just handed it down to me. I get my license in 1.5 months, but I want it now.
