The higher the treadwear, the harder the rubber is, and the less sticky they will be. Take the average goodyear tire you find at sears, the treadwear is 420-440 or so, and they come with something like a 50,000 mile warranty. I have Sumitomo HTRZIIs and the treadwear is 220. Soft, definitely not for snow or rain. But sticky on pavement and fast wearing. They come with no mileage warranty for that purpose. Tires that are great for drag racing are not going to be great for street use. Do you want them to be ultra sticky? Then be prepared to be buying tires often. Otherwise go with something that is rated for All season that has a good tread and mileage rating. You cannot have the best of all worlds in one tire.

dude your car looks tight with those rims... but you should lower it, cause there is too much gap between the tire and the fender! (IMO) other than that i really like it!

if your car is awd you dont need to worry about tread wear. you get off the line the same with 4 spare doughnut tires as you would with a set of hoosier, or mickey tompson drag tires!
I also agree you need to drop that car, or a least put some larger seires tires on those rims, something like 205/55/17, those are 17's right?

Please tell me you are kidding about getting off the line the same with a set doughnuts as opposed to mickey thompsons. I would agree if this was an AWD Yugo or something, but not a car producing any power.

You can find plenty of opinions on the thread that I think it still sticky, suspension and tire section of www.dsmtuners.com
There are also knowledgable vendors posting there, like tirerack.com
If you can't break traction on AWD tires won't matter, but any car making decent power can benefit from better gripping tires.

yes i was just kidding about the doughnuts, i actually run faster with them on. less rubber on the ground means less drag, and faster accelaration. also since the are 12in tires theres less weight, i shave about 2sec off my 1320 time! lol!
