Removing factory audio ('03)

I have been all over the threads, looking for details to the above. I have seen some info, but I am not sure how much difference there is in model years, so I am scared to just start pullin'. After removing 3 a/c knobs, what do you do? If I have overlooked a thread somewhere and it is described elsewhere, please refer me to the thread. This is the first vehicle I have owned that cost me over $1,500, so I'm probably being a little too cautious.
