That's nucking futz!
What are the k-series engines out of?
What about that dash too? It looks pretty cool, although it doesn't line up with the doors very well, and looks like it kills the leg-room... looks pretty tight though.

maybe it's "speed tape". You know, because the car is so fast now that the corner lights fly off at high speeds

Nice swap, but a totall waste of a lot of time and money.
Not a waste of money, www.cybernationmotorsports.com , they've been able to get 500whp out of a Type-S motor w/ just pistons, rods, head studs, and a blockguard, using a piggy back fuel system. That was 35psi on the dyno, I have a sweet vid of it, crazy shit.
That one is on the bottle I think, looks like solonoids and lines on the fender.

the motor itself is worth more than the Civic it's in. Don't get me wrong...it's cool that someone did the swap, but it's definitely not cost effective. Then again, if I had the cash to waste, I'd do it too - just to say that I did it....

I realize that the K series make incredible numbers when modded (for what's done to them).. However, its not cost effective because those numbers could be achieved for less money with a different motor.

K-series engines are also lighter than B-series according to all data I've seen. The stock axles are way tough, and they have 6-speeds.
K-series is the ONLY swap I would consider, other than that I'm sticking to my A6.

ITs not really a waste of money if ur going to keep the car because you like it alot. I mean with that brand ne engine you got at least another 10yrs on the car unless it rusts. And plus k-series engines are lighter than b's and they have more torque and there becoming more common in the newer hondas, so why not?

02-13-2004, 11:52 PM
So shut me up with numbers. HOW much lighter are they? HOW much better is the gearing in their trannys compared to B series trannys? My tranny sure could use an extra gear, but it wouldn't nessicarily make it quicker..
Why not? I couldn't imagine trying to make that motor work in my car.. The wiring would be retarded, and I think you'd constantly be running into problems with it. Axles would be another thing that would be something to deal with too..
Like I said, its cool that someone did it, but if it were cost effective more people would be doing it.

I agree with you on the wiring. It is. Thats why i gave up and its still in the garage. lol. AND ALSO NO ONE SAID THAT IT WAS COST EFFECTIVE. It pays off in the end if you want to have a lot of power and keep your car for another 10yrs. but economically no. The only reason i got it is because my cousins a moron driving with no insurance and he gave it to me after he totaled the rsx.

How do you figure a newer motor will last any longer than a rebuilt older motor? I wouldn't jump to the assumption that because of its age its a better motor. Doing a swap just for "props" or whatever seems kind of counterproductive to what the overall goal is if you're wanting to make your car faster.. But whatever.
Does anyone have actual numbers of the gearing on the newer K series tranny? I'm interested now.. I think that my tranny would need a 6th gear to sell new today.. At least. I could have even longer gears and still utilize a 6th.

If you want a car to last another 10 years why not just go out and buy and RSX, lol. I agree, I wouldn't bother putting it in my car cuz I could have a B series for a hell of a lot cheaper. However it would be nice to have 6 gears but oh well. And I like the RSX cluster...but when its in an RSX, don't think it looks that great in a 4g.

It doestn look like leather thats just how an rsx dash is. It does look out of place due to its large size though...
