damn, that's awesome...but i'm wondering why you didn't foil all the trim?
for instance the rest of the windshield, and around the a-pillars...the pieces that run up the hood and trunk... I'm not trying to be your worst critic or anything, just didn't know if you left it off for a reason or what..

Alot of work for a great result, looks really nice man! Did you get the idea for the sliding rag from madmodellers 63 impala on Layitlow? Only things I can ask are why such big exhaust pipes? No lowrider I know of has huge exhaust pipes. The interior colours don't really compliment the exterior, I think tan would of looked alot better with that sweet exterior paint. And I echo what 1ofaknd asks. I also don't mean to be critical but I'm just stating honest opinions. Get some outside photos because that paint looks awesome!
Peace

thanks. I foiled what I thought I should have. I may have missed a couple of items.
The interior was experimental black white and red... just wanted to try out some techniques, sorry if you guys don't like it.
I might not even enter it in competition.. just did it for fun.

Yeah, enter it into the contest man! Give everyone else a run for their money and get some enjoyment from all the money you spent on that sucker! And you make the model for yourself, not for other people. If the interior looks good to you then that is all that matters, models are built from your own opinions. Could I ask if that thing is ass heavy with all that boot install stuff in it?

Take that sucker outside tomorrow! The light makes it hard to make out all your incredible detail. The trunk install is insane!! I love the whole thing. I love seeing skilled modellers pick up a challenge and execute! Just fantastic, that car rocks. I'd fix the bare metal foil, but don't sweat it too hard. There's nothin' stoppin' people from leavin off chrome and painting instead on the 1:1. One of the things I've learned in model building: unless you are replicating an actual car, just about anything goes. Great work! I always enjoy your threads.

I've never seen someone paint the chrome trim on a real classic car. Or leave it off completly. When it comes to 60's lows....the more chrome the better! but it's an easy fix for sure...

Thank you everyone. I will work on more accurate bmf. I liked the minum amount of it for the clean look, but since everyone told me otherwise I guess I am going to please the court ;)
I also understand that I wired the plumbing on the hydro pumps wrong and that the interior is not matching the body... I got some PM's about people not liking the interior. I am sorry, but I doubt I am going to be able to do anything about that now.
Thanks for all the poisitive feedback and all the critiques!

SLK230,
You win. Hands down. Just on the amount of detail alone! My favorite part is the chassis, especially the engine detaling. Love the battery details. The speakers and amp wiring look so cool. Very impressive paint and dashboard detailing too. I applaud you for the canvas top, that must have took some engineering!
BTW, howz that Porsche coming along or is it already done and I'm being Mr. Forgetful.

Well what do you think?
I think it's one hell of a fine build bro. I love it NSEW, inside and out. Ragtop is the icing on the cake. The detailing fascinates me.
Totally pimpin' slk320!
I wish I was 1/millionth as good. :worshippy
