Service Engine soon - code P0341

So after driving for months with the service engine soon light on I finally spent the 35 bucks and had the codes pulled. It came back with p0341 which means "CMP sensor out of range". the mechanic said that this had something to do with the CAM , but didn't give me much more information than that. he also mentioned that it could have something to do with the ignition wires. where do i start?
