What do u guys think about taking my 95 Hatch and once putting in the B16 motor keep the cable arm for the tranny :D and do not waste my time telling me it cannot be done......if so, I will post pics for u.

not bad but not good either
true you will get a better feel for clutch pressure and never have to deal with a slave cylnder but you do have to deal with cables snapping or the clucth cable holding dealy thing exploding on you

why would you wan to do that any way and a 95 is already equiped with a hydro clutch and so is the B16 plush that cable arm is used for bolth the hydro and the cable pedals I think the only differnce is that the tranny has another piston in the tranny to push the arm

I think your taking a step back in automotive development

and you did a good job of that.

The Y1, S1 and YS1 are all cable clutch equiped g/boxs.
If you were really keen you could change the clutch lever and pivot point inside the bellhousing, and you would then have a hydrolic operated clutch making it an easier swap into the 5g, and also give you a better set of ratios.
The J1 is the hydrolic clutch equiped g/box from the later 5 and 6g SiR. It has a much taller set of ratios, and is a quite differnt gear box to the Y1 family.

As for the problems with Clutch cables snapping and "clutch holding delay" I dont really need to say anything. A seal can blow in a master or slave cylinder just as easily as a cable can snap.

Putting the Y1 into a 5g and converting the 5g to a cable clutch is not actualy a bad idea if your planning on building a race car with only minimum engine mods. (the Y1 is not as strong as a J1) It would give a much tighter and more VTEC friendly set of ratios.
But in a road car, I dont think the messing around with modifing the pedal box would be worth it.
