well..i was given a 89 caprice...and wanna keep this over my current car...because im sick of my small honda. first off...the car almsot feels like its not running on all cylinders when you stomp on the gas...any suggestions there?
i also plan on keeping the 305..and modding it...any good websites for parts for the caprice? i definetly wanna turn it posi..where would i find the stuff needed for that?
another q..whats the widest tire the caprice will take without rubbing...front and rear
sorry if these questions are really newbie-ish...but im relatively new to the world of RWD...so any help would be great..thanks alot

305's are for cruzin' not moddin' look for a 350 parts cost the same
you need to spend money to get 305 to run with stock 350..I got both
the 305 does get 2 mpg better milage, but won't out run a good 4.3

read the 305 badmouthing thread
in in there is an awesome link for the 305 owners and believers.
I had a '89 one time too, it was stolen day after I got exhaust done and passed emissions.
Go with a nice dual exhaust and install 4th gen LT1 F-body EGR. It does fit and you will not have CEL for the EGR due too low backpressure.
Do a search for 'dual snorkel' or do something different with the intake.
Those are the easiest to do, changing gear ratio will make wonders.
After that I think you'd need to start to dig into the motor.
Heads, Cam, intake, ...
Remember you may need to have your ECU flashed
BTW this is my 2nd thread on this forum.

In regard to the widest tires on your 89.
I have 275/60/15's all the way around on my 88 and they seem to be fine. Looks like a big hotwheels car with 'em. -3859C1-
