Water pump problem!

Ok I have a 95 Cobra I'm selling today to this guy. We are sitting down to talk about price today. I just put in a new radiator yesterday because a side tank had been slowly leaking. I told him I would fix it. After I drove the car yesterday it sat in my driveway. Then today the low coolant light comes on. The bottom of the water pump gasket is leaking. Shit. Is the water pump easy to replace? When do they start having problems usually? I have 56650 miles on the car. Thanks.

Changing the water pump on a 5.0 is easy. The toughest part is taking off and puttin on the 90 degree bypass hose. If your water pump is leaking out the bottom there is a good chance the water pump is good and just the gasket material has blown out because the large distance between bolts on the bottom.

Could be the bearings. It might look like its the gasket. I have never seen a water pump gasket leak like that, I seen a bunch of bearings go out :iceslolan

Are you sure its leaking out of the gasket? It could be coming from the wheep hole in the bottom of the water pump and just look like the gasket. But like GTStang said, that 90* bypass hose sucks!!
