Interesting article, however I can't help but think how some people are going to say its a sickness and we all need help. I'd be willing to be there's something that everybody has an addiction too. Whether it be cars, politics, or flowers that's makes their brain function in the same manner.

I'm addicted to breathing - I feel like I just can't live without it!!! Arrrg!, why did I get addicted in the first place! It's really bad now, I breathe all the time, even at work and while driving.
Can't you be addicted to anything?

I agree with this to an extent. I know that when I see a rare muscle car or something that it makes my day.

The article makes sense...sure I get jollies off staring at cars and I nearly bust a nut whenever I see a 69' Boss, but comparing an auto enthusiast to a drug addict is way over the line. Having had to sit in Detox surrounded by maniacal crack heads and a meth addict screaming his lungs out and ripping his hair from his roots because he's coming down from his high, I can safely say that being a drug addict has some "minor" differences from an auto enthusiast. Obviously, the author of the article has not had alcoholic parents or known anyone addictied to drugs or else he would not have said something so stupid. Besides, has anyone ever sucked dick to drive a car? :iceslolan

You're right, it shouldn't be a comparison. But they also specifically mentioned cocaine. Cocaine is a drug that you only get one 'big' high one, and after that you're always searching for another high just like that. So I think, looking back on the article, that the comparison to cocaine is in a strange way legit. B/c car freaks like us can't ever get enough. We always want more and more.

That's a bit of stating the fucking obvious. What gives us pleasure releases Seratonin in the brain. Medical fact. Sex, chocolate, cars, cactus wearing pink dresses - whatever.

That article is retarded and completely stupid. It's not an addiction if a man seems to have better brain activity by looking at cars...it's just because he likes looking at cars. Just cuz you like looking at cars does'nt mean you're addicted to them. So I guess men are also addicted to women, food, and the toilet?
This article is like some stupid report done by a kid but this time it's written using scientific words and it's done by 'doctors'.
Bieng a car enthusiast causes brain defects?!? Like WHAT?!?!
I LIKE cars, does'nt mean I'm addicted to them. Maybe I'm in denial but I still find this artice to be stupid.

It was done by doctors in Germany. I'm in America. My tax is not paying for that shit. Wait, I'm not a taxpayer...it does'nt matter for me anyway.
