Ok here is the deal. I thought that my 91 civic hb was just the STD model with MAYBE 90 hp but probably more like 70-85, somewhere around there. It has a stock 4spd tranny in it, which was another clue. There are no kind of emblems or anything on the car, so I couldn't be completley sure. Well, the other night, I raced a friend of mine, who drives a 94 2dr DX. All I have is cold air right now, and he has cold air, exhaust, and some sort of "v-tec chip" he says helps him with his top end. Well I beat him, not by a lot, but it was a definate win. So, what's the deal? Is my car just way lighter than his, or do I have a different car than I am thinking?

a VTEC chip for a DX engine wont make much difference cause the DX engine isn't VTEC, and just intake and exhaust dont add hardly any horsepower.....and yes your car is way lighter than his, plus you could just be a better driver....lots of factors are involved in a drag race

if your car has the 4 speed in it and doesnt have AC or any of that stuff then it is a std. If it has AC and is a 5 speed or auto it is prolly a dx unless it has a sunroof and then it is an SI

So the STD's do not have A/C? Well mine does have A/C. Does that make it a DX?
