Exaust Prob.

I've got a 84 FirebirdTA it's had exstinsive mods done to it and the only the prob i ran into was no clearance for the exaust. I was thinking about sidepipes without the 180 degree J bend with a one chamber flowmaster right before it exits the underside of the car. My question is this will I get good performance out of that? Or if anyone has a suggestion on another system thx. :banghead:

Not sure but go with a larger pipe.
Say 2 1/4 at the manufold ( or what ever you have)
Then 3" after that to make up for the bend?

no clearence for the exhaust? if it dosent have the dual lines set up in the floor boards try running a single 3 or a 3.5 inch pipe following the stock route

double check flowmaster.com they have a ci/hp diagram for pipe size

I was trying to stay away from the single exuast if I could, I would like to run the sidepipes I'm just not sure if they may be to loud, they come with glasspacks and to be honost I just don't like glasspacks and the one chamber Flowmaster is the only thing I know of that dosn't give a bunch of back pressure, I need some but as much as a single exaust sytem will provide

Well, I'm not certain on this, but I've heard of really good muffler shops being able to convert single exhaust to dual-exhaust with little problems...

I'd just talk to a well-known muffler/welding shop who knows their stuff and ask them if they can create a dual set-up that will give good performance AND give you ground clearance...
