Stumped again with an odd question, my oil pressure when the car is at idle is low but when i give it gas, the pressure rises. Is this normal? I was told so and that all i needed was a aftermarket oil gauge. Lost in oil pressure land... Jeremy

Oil pressure is normally lower at idle than above idle. Ford oil pressure senders are notorius for clogging up sometimes. If your gage shows you're losing all oil pressure, you're sender is probably the culprit. If it just drops down around 20-30 psi, don't worry.

But yeah, stock gauges are notoriously inaccurate. Get and after-market gauge to monitor the exact PSI.

i should no better than to trust a stock gauge, my tach is off, speedo off, i think the only two gauges that arent off are the gas and battery, but hey thats a ford for ya, i own two mustangs and wouldnt trade either one for another auto. Thanks you guys have been very helpful, i'm shure I will return with more newbie questions...lol thanks
