I am buying an 89 4x4 and I will probably be putting factory 15 "wheels on it until I can get the set up I really want.

My question is when or did they change anything from 87-88 or 98-99. I have been searching ebay for wheels and I see a lot of people saying their wheels will fit 92-98 or 98-2003. Some of these ebayers dont know much. I would imagine 15" wheels wont fit newer trucks due to bigger brakes and such.

I would like to know incase I run across a set of 16" alloys from a 94, 95, 96. I like the caps with the fake lug holes on 94's before they switched to the smooth caps.

I will probably go to the 15" steel factory rims with the beauty rims for right now. I like more tire less rim. But the 15" rims look better on the early 80's or late 70's body style. THe 89 I am getting looks the same as early 90's. Guess I will have to play around til I get the look i want.

But any comments on interchangable wheels are welcome.

wheels for these trucks will fit any 4x4 up to 99 and any truck 2 wheel or 4 wheel on newer trucks but older wheels won't fit newer trucks like you said due to bigger brakes

you can use any 6 lug wheel up to 99, plus some six lug wheels from toyotas will work too

I think the factory steel 6 lugs on my 88 4x4 are 16 inch? They ar not the hd brakes either. Mybe the 5 lug is 15?
