Im a high school senior and one of the biggest thing on my mind is my future. I kno what i want to major in, business administration. I have worked my ass off to keep my grades high so i can get into the colleges that i like. So far i have two applications out and one more that i'm workin on now.
Now here is the reason i but this in the stress release forum
Today i got my first acceptance letter YAY!!! I was accepted to Rutgers University and i was so excited. I started reading the letter and it told me I wasn't accepted to my orginal pick of Rutger school (Rutgers Business school in New Bruinswick), but the Camden College of the Arts and Science WTF!! First of all, i want to be further from home than Camden (20 min drive from home). Second of all, i dont want to study art(im not artistic) or science (its ok but i dont want to make a career out of it). I guess i can't win them all. Good thing Rutgers was not my top pick for colleges, i still got Montclair State and Brooklyn College, which i kno i can get into. I just needed to vent my anger.

I remember when I applied for school. I got accepted into the only two I applied. Of course I chose the wrong one and am scarred for life. I left it and now I'm attending community college. I see a very dim future light for me...

First off, if your education and your future were your first priorities then you wouldnt care where the college was or how far away it is.
Second, check in to this school. It may be a school for under grads. YOu may be able to get an associates there. they do have associates of arts and sciences but that doesnt me they are art and science classes. Take a college day and check out the campus and see what they have to offer. There may be a reason they sent oyu there. maybe it was better off for you.

I hear ya about wanting to be some what far from home. I'm only around an hour from my parents house, but there are no surprise visits. And if I need to go home its not that big of a pain to drive the short drive. Best of luck man.
And don't be too worried about failure. If you're going to college and you have an idea of what you want to do then you won't fail. And quite frankly unless your going Ivy League, the college doesn't particularly matter. Especially after you've been in the working world for a year or two. The college I go to(Sam Houston State) is growing very very fast. This is my second year here and the number of students has grown tremendously. They're also working on becoming the most technological school in Texas.

Just be glad that the university actually replied to you. My brother put in an application to University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and they still haven't even PROCESSED his application, and he sent it in september. But he got into all the other schools he applied to. Anyway, good luck.

1st year in any art or science program is flexible..I don't remember how many times I've switched from one area to another in my 1st and 2nd year of university:uhoh: it's normal to stress over so much due to all the changes ;)
