Creaky Sqeaky Door Panels...Ugh!!!!

Hey everyone. I'm just writing to let you all know that I have fallen in love with this website. You mustang people are the most informative bunch of car nuts out there. Thanks for all the help. Now, on to the problem...my mustang is going on five years old and i'm starting to notice that the door panels are starting to creak and squeak when i touch or lean on them, or when i go over bumps. Its driving me nuts cause it makes my car sound like a piece of crap. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if they knew of a way to try and tame the horrible noises. well you didnt say what year it was but i guess there all pretty much the same. I would first replace all the push pins, which should help to tighten up the door panel. If that doesnt help try putting like a real thin layer if of foam padding(stickable) on sections of the door. You also might try using some white lithium grease on any bolts in the door panel and tighten em up good.

atleast yours is all in one piece :P

Also check the striker latch on the door frame below the B pillar. A lot of times the plastic bushing around it breaks off and allows the door to jiggle around a bit. Replacement strikers are pretty cheap if that's the case.

I really appreciate the help. I forgot to mention its a 99. I'm going to replace the push pins as well as put on a thin layer of foam. Anyone have any idea where I might be able to find such a thing. Thanks again.

should have everything you need, except maybe the foam. as for that, you get that at a little scrap store or something if you're not too picky

Its not the my confidence isn't high, I just don't want to be a dick. Besides, math isn't my specialty. Either way, I appreciate the help, I'm going down to a rag shop near my house, they said they have the foam. I'll let you know how I make out... :smokin:
