Based on the buzz around the German headquarters, our artists have put together this photo illustration of the next generation Audi A8.

Expected to make its debut for the 2003 model year, this low-volume luxury sedan will be fitted with Audi’s all-new FSI engines. At introduction, the engine offerings are expected to include several longitudinal V-8s ranging from a 3.5-liter eight with 260 hp to a 5.0-liter version with 360 horses. Front-wheel drive with a four-link front suspension or the quattro option, both with a new air suspension system, will be offered. A long-wheelbase model and turbo options may follow.

It's already known that i will not look like this... And the engines will be other too , there will be no 5.0 engine , just a better developed version of the W12 with 450 hp , the S8 with 360 hp just like the actual model , a 3.0 V6 with 230 hp , the 3.3 tdi with 235 hp , 4.2 V8 with 310hp , and maybe a 5.0 V10 Tdi with more than 300 hp

I still think the current A8 is one of the best looking large lux sedans on the market. If I were shopping that market, I'd pick it over the 7-series or S-class any day. It does make me nervous what the redesign will look like, because I haven't liked ANY of the supposed spy photos that I've seen.

TomS8? You say that spy pic isn't accurate. I'm hoping that you're right.... but have you seen anything else?

Audi's been on a roll lately. I hope they don't screw this one up.
