valve vover won't come off

quick ? i have been trying to get my valve cover off for some cleaning and have been unable to get it off. i have made sure that all of the bolts are out of it, even the ones covered by the timing belt cover. i am assuming that a prior owner used a type of sealent on it. where is the safest place to pry from. i do not want to scratch or break anything. please let me know. thxs!

Small prybar/screwdriver. You will have to replace the gasket regardless.
