It is another Enzo, it will have the extra parts from the yellow version, but will be molded in red.

I can't fault them, I expect a rather notable chunk of the buyers do not paint their kits, so this one is really meant for those builders.

As for other brands - well, feel free to pay the license fees that Audi, Mercedes and BMW and others charge and Tamiya, I'm sure, will be more than happy to make those models.

Tamiya is pissing me off...

This is a cheap ploy to sell one modeler more than one kit. I would have waited for the yellow version w/the c/f decals had I known they would be doing this. I refuse to buy another Tamiya product until it's re-released. They screwed around w/the original Modena, the Z car, and now the Enzo. Live and learn...Tamiya is not getting any more of my money on a new release. I can wait for the "improved" version. That is if they bother to do any more sports cars ever again...they're not showing any signs of new kits that appeal to me at all... :disappoin

LOL, I completely agree with all of you though :D

I don't see the problem.
Another version of the 'improved' original.
The more money they make on old tooling, the more money they have to develop new kits. The down side for you non Ferrari fans is the likelyhood that there will be a new Ferrari in the near future, simply because of the success of recent Tamiya Ferrari releases.

Now if Fujimi would re-release some of their Ferrari's!

Although I would expect that those same buyers don't want any PE parts either (or whatever the extra parts are, can't remember now). Actually, I think those buyers would buy Revell Enzo anyway, because Tamiya Enzo would be too demanding.

Looks like Tamiya is trying to become another Fujimi. At least the quality is still excellent.

How about the S2000 (reg and vspec), and the R34 (vspec and vspecII). Or the rally focuses. Or the 206's. This isn't really anything that new from tamiya.

So the Williams (both versions), Lancer WRC and the two Skylines aren't new enough? I'm very thankful to Tamiya that they released several 206s with most of the changes to the car reflected in the kits, I already have two and planning on getting at least one more. Besides, I'd rather see Tamiya produce things that are done with quality in mind rather than quantity-oriented half-arsed latest Fujimi efforts.

Well, it's easy to produce quality things, when you keep releasing probably the best 1/24 car kit yet over and over again.
At least WRC kits are kits of different cars, not just different color cars. I really hope this means that they are working on something that is actually new.

What's the problem? :eek7: A new Enzo? Don't buy it if you don't want it! Others may be happy to take it. :loser:
Another Enzo: good news!

It's a question of choice: Tamiya as choosen to make few new kits but high quality ones. When the Modena or Enzo came, most people seemed to be happy they made this choice... :iceslolan

Maybe we'll have to wait 6 months or more to have a 1/24 Porsche Carrera GT, surely with the same high level of details... It may be not a bad choice, because the car is really great, even if it's not the most beautifull one!...

What do I mean? Have a look at my signature, you'll see there's lot of cars I wish Tamiya made... Like you all, I feel frustrated :uhoh: (so many new beautifull cars, so few models...), but I say: If more Enzo means more new realeases in the future, I wish they made a black one, a clear one, a white one, a metal grey one, with or without PE parts or CF decals... If there's people to buy them, ok!

Maybe I'm too old, now, but to my eyes the only thing to do is:
Wait and see... :smokin: :icon16:

it will be like last year

Enzo is out then.......... nothing new since the R34 in December...

So I don't expect any real new kit from Tamiya this year as last year

Expect one or 2 other R34 with different decal or transkit. and expect a Clear View Enzo, a Pro finish Xanavi R34 and a new WRC Subaru (that may be the only real release this year)

New rule: Don't by the first version of any new Tamiya kits. Wait till the bring out the "special edition".
Sadly with the very slow release rate of new kits, this rule won't be practiced very frequently.

Feel bad about starting this thread now. I didnt set out to be negative about Tamiya, i was just so surprised to find a third Enzo from them. Im sure the quality of it will be top notch as usual, but i sure wont be buying one as ive already done an Enzo & a modena spider. So, some of you reckon its gonna be a good while before we see something other than Enzo's & Skyline's again !!! Well......i can wait beacause ive invested in some Aoshima VIP American kits & i must say (as a Tamiya fanatic) that the quality is superb, and all with nice rims, not too much sanding either. The only downside with these kits are the fact that the chassis (can't spell) are mainly one piece like Tamiyas 350z but overall very impressive kits. So it's bye bye Tamiya until we see something other than Enzo's And especially Skylines.

Later, Mike. :smokin:

Good to see them adding extra's into their kits i say. Its about time they had more etched parts in their car kits.

Also, don't get too upset by Tamiya's lack of new releases. This is how its been for years with them and their car kits, around 2-4 new toolings each year.

Transparent parts to see the engine (underside) + CF decals + red body... that's all! It's the yellow Enzo, red colored! lol!

seriuously, u guys should just answer, and KEEP IN MIND, that some things u can't search, eg: u search enzo, and you come up with over 50 threads.

anyway, i was planning on asking the same question, but now its been answered, i'd like to ask, what is the transparent part to see the engine?..... is this what it has in real life too?

once the undertray in the original enzo kit is installed it is impossible to see the underside of the engine, as in real life. This new kit allows, if the builder desires, to have this undertray transparent so that the engine underside detail can still be seen.

Does anyone know if the CF decal provided with the kit comes with a template on the reverse side? Like an SMS one? And with enough CF to cover the entire car, or only a few bits and there, since the Enzo has lots of CF?

A templated CF that covers the whole car would save quite a lot of work.

Thanks!

There are templates, but not on the reverse side of the decals, and there's not enough decals to cover the entire body: just for visible area: cockpit and engine room. But I'm afraid the underside of the car can't be covered, for example...

This is basically the same as the new yellow Enzo kit, with the extras mentioned above.

I posted pics of the new parts included in this thread a while back.

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=181189&page=1&pp=15

I also posted a scan of the template if you want to print it and use on the older red version with CF decals of your choice. The CF pattern that comes in the Tamiya kit is very nice and worth buying.
