Ok well i just got a 1992 Celica GTS. Im lookin at upgradin the horsepower to around 300 bhp, maybe a little more. Im gonna swap the motor for a 3S-GTE. first some people say its cheaper to go with a stand alone fuel managment system then to get all the sensors(AFM, etc.) and harness etc.I was also wondering if the stock turbo could handle that number. Other upgrades will include the usual bolt-ons plus head studs, intake manifold ( i hear that cylinder 3 runs lean when u start playing in the 300 horse range) boost controller, ignition etc. Will the injectors be ok? Should i upgrade the turbo system and would a front mount intercooler be wise?? Next question, would the best solution be a 3S-GTE Transmission from a MR2 turbo or stick with the 5SFE tranny? i heard this about going with a MR2 turbo transmission "Hoses don't line up of course, they use diffrent spigots on the MR-2 motor to line up with those hoses. The I/C is useless, and a couple of systems (like the intake) are in slightly different locations. It makes for more headache."
Also a LSD any one know where i can get one to fit this config? Any other upgrades that i should take into consideration. Does that sound resonable on a $8000 dollar America dollar budget? The exterior will come later. and ive already done suspension work. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks again.

go with 3sgte...and as far as lsd goes...the 95 and up mr2 has a factory lsd tranny...so get your hands on that...but itll be spedny though...or a v6 camry tranny to handle the power...but the turbo...go with a 20g or 25g turbo...its made for the eclipse but with a custom flange itll work...fuel system...simple...external fuel pump...aem custom fuel rail...hks 700cc injectors...fuel pressure regulator...send in your ecu to jet and have them program it...and set your boost cut off at 18 psi...and run only 16 psi....act or clutch master stage 4 great with turbo and nos...build the whole motor with new pistons, rings, rods, cam gears, cams, pulleys, sleeves, and a complete valve job...i went with the 3 angle valve job...damn does that feel good at full boost...try that...

Cool, thanks for the help. Think ill start buying my parts and when i get them all ready ill pick up the motor and throw everything on at once then swap the engines. Thanks for the info. Ill put some more research into that setup.
