Anyone have any links for the coupe's 0-60 time? I found one for the convertable, but that's worthless to me.

Thanks

Who cares 0-60 its freeway merging, try 1/4 mile.

Don't know off the top of my head, a quick yahoo search would yield the answer...

Yahoo search yields tons of junk. Including a speed test by some yahoos that wanted to compare the SS to some rice cars in a "worst case" scenerio. Automatic Convertable.

Most searches do. That's why one needs patience...

Took me 2 minutes, 10 seconds. How hard was that??? The fact that it's a 1999 SS is moot, came up on a "2002 Camaro SS stats" search on yahoo, and the times won't differ enough to matter from the time given on the site. It's all in how you word it on what you get using a search...

I got that one too. But it's the 1999 and I'm looking for the 345 hp SS SLP.

I'm trying to figure out how much of a difference the 20 hp made.

I also saw the 5.2 number, but it was for the 320 hp base SS car.

See previous post. Trust me, it didn't make enough difference to matter. All that was changed was the airlid and catback exhaust...

All SS's are SLP...

i know a guy that workes for snap on and his ss ran high 12's to low 13's. SS's should have any where between 325 hp to 330. Keep in mind the transam's had the same motor and came with 325 horse power. I work for pontiac and i rode in a 2003 acura nsx. It was quick, but we had a 35 anaversery edition ws6 trans am and it bout pinned me in the back window. It was said to run high 12's. But if you want my apinion i think my 86 camaro 305 car will take em all. 9.48 et 8th mile.

the fourth gen f- bodies won't run a 12 stock. close but not quite. 9.48 in the 1/8th is good for about a 13.7 give or take a few

It's been done, but I've never witnessed it, nor will I ever. You've gotta have a factory beast and an awesome driver...

hypsi... hey noob here, Not calling you out but I think you 1/8 to 1/4 times are a little off. I run 8.8@ 81 and 13.7ish @102. This is at sea level. Not sure if that'd make a diff. I think 9.48 is pretty slow in th1/8 for any kind of performace vehicle. Again, not flaming, just wondered if that was a typo. I do agree that ls1 generally won't run in the 12 stock. btw my times are on the street dunlop radials, with horrendous 60 ft times. :iceslolan

My 1/8th mile with strret tires and pump gas are 8.8@89MPH. Major traction issues my '60 is a best 1.9 but usually 2.2-2.1. What is your 1/8th with out compensating for sea level?

My times are pretty much as above, except when I screw up. :grinno:
I also live @ 50 miles from the gulf of mexico, so my times are always at sea level, no corection needed. I hope to get my 91 RS's trans rebuilt soon, so I can take it to the track and baseline it. I plan on using it stock for my primary race vehicle so that I can improve my driving abilities ( ie: consistancy) before I start modding it. I have a 400 block sitting in the garage that I am going to destroke and put in it eventually.

Thats cool. My times are not corrected. They are what it runs at whateve elevation it is in Illionis.

You got me all wrong. I said i knew a guy with an 02 ss camaro that ran high 12's to low 13's. I have a stock 305 in my 86 camaro that runs 9.48 in the eith and cuts 2.0 60 foot times. That may be slow to you considering that you have about 125 more horses than i do. My 82 camaro ran 10.60's. For me thats a major improvment, it also had a 305 cross fire injected motor. I live in atlanta georgia and race in lagrange georgia which is pretty much on the alabama state line. Like 9.48 is pretty damn good for any car with a stock 305 in it.

305ho, sorry for the misunderstanding, I was origionally telling Hypsi87 that I thought his conversion from 1/8 to 1/4 times were a little off.(9.48 1/8 does not = 13.7 1/4) 9.48 is definitly not bad for the stock 305. My 91 has a 305tbi, and I doubt it runs as fast as yours. Good job!

my cousin has a 2001 firehawk.. Supposedly with the 345hp.. I think all it is is a better flowing cat back system, and the wheels and some styling.. I can tell you what i've encontered with him.. He hasn't taken it to the track yet, but on my g-tech pro he ran consistent 13.5's.. Now, he states he has an SLP loud mouth cat back system, SLP headers,a chip and 4:11 gears.. I kinda raced him once from about 20-70 in my 99 Cobra, witch only has what i have listed below.. I had a passenger, and traction control on.. he was lined up beside me and had the jump and i stayed at his door the entire race.. He wasn't pulling on me at all.. If i had had the jump on him i think it would had been the other way around...
