what do you pay for insurance?

i have a 1998 eclipse gst. i'm 23 and live in austin, texas. no accidents, tickets or other claims on my record. ever.

i pay $864 every six months, or $144 per month. it just went down from $160. well, since i just got the gst, they prorated the remaining 2 months from my honda crx policy, and it went from $102 to $160. this is the first time that i've had to go by monthly payments since stupid UT tuition gets raised, yet again! :banghead:

i'm not sure if that's bad or good. post yours, so we can compare...

oh, i got progressive insurance. full coverage, 25-50-25, $5K modifications coverage (carried over from my crx, and my gst is not modified...yet)

i got the same from progressive too with about the same coverage. i pay 1300 every 6 months [1 payment] i got way too many points from what i like to call an 'overactive childhood [more like 19-24]'

BTW you should be getting that filter today or tomorrow, if it isn't already there. :)

1300 every 6 months, but my record is clean :) I just convinced my mom that putting the car in her name for less insurance cost ISN'T Fraud, so maybe it will only be 80 a month soon (its 200+ now)

I have a 98 gst. I am 26 years old and I pay $457 every 6 months. Its down from $687 b/c I totalled out my other car 3 years ago. They lost big on that one. I had a brand new Nissan with 5500 miles on it and totaled it.They said the car was only worth 15k at the time but had to pay off the loan for $19,600 b/c I had gap coverage

I have a 98 gs. 16 years old. But my car is under my dad's name so it is only like 750 per year :smile: . Full coverage from AAA.

it used to be 'play now, pay later' but now it came time to pay a bit ago, so now it's 'pay to play'. but i got a great paying job [i can't begin to explain how i landed that one, but it saves my ass on a daily basis] so i can afford shitty insurance... but i don't have to like it ;)

I pay 1500 per year for all 3 cars. My GSX, escort, and mystique. Not full coverage, F that. :) I hate owing a bank for a car just for that reason... I've only had 3 surchargeable events since 1996 (2 speeding, one no reg in car) and the crooks have me at 17 points up from 12. Fags. There was a time though when I had the maximum of 35 points. I got more tickets, just no points... lol. Live and learn... The faster my car gets, the less trouble I get into.

I told her to take me off her insurance (and my car) as a driver, since any car she is primary on covers whoever drives the vehicle.

She put me as secondary driver on my Talon, and put me as secondary on her Honda (why?!) which saves a total of 120 dollars every 6 months.

Im 16 and own a 95 GST, and yes bought and payed for by myself, even though most people dont believe me. I pay $118 a month for liabilty. Full coverage is waaaaaayy to much. I've got 2 speeding tickets. well one is a careless driving for speeding (i was clocked at 110 in a 65). With the record, my age, and the type of car I guess even for just liability the price is low.

shit i'm paying 470 for collision and liability through state farm. i'm under my parents right now and plan to be until i'm 25 when my insurance drops....its ethier that or go knock up some chic so i can get a discount on my insurance and well i dont need a kid.... i've also been in 2 accidents and my insurance hasn't gone up(some perfered coustomer bullshit b/c my parents have been insured through them for the 30 years) i also have a good student discount. the big thing that helps tho is i haven't plead guilty to any of my tickets... oh well jus thought i would put in my :2cents:

I'm 19 years old, live in Oregon, 1 accident, 1 ticket, full coverage, $50 deductable, under parents name, no good students discounts, drive 97 RS ~ $1900 yearly, going through Safeco, most other guys wanted at least a grand more

yea ... insurance is a bitch... i jus hate to see how high mine would be if i hadn't ethier got out of my tickets or hadn't plead to deferred sentancing. i'm mean my driving record suck in high scool

1) no seat belt <----that one i couldn't get out of and had to pay
2)wreckless driving ticket <---bc i turned to wide on a one lane rural road coming home one night....thank god i didn't get a dwi)
3)wreckless driving ticket ( 2 weeks later...i passed a bus on a 2 lane highway doin 80 in a 45 through a curve and almost hit a cop...that was also a do not pass go , do not collect to hundred dollars and u have a free trip to jail.)
4)excessive speed ( i got pulled over doin 120 in a 65 zone oh well got out of that one cause the state cop was an idiot and put my car was dark green on the ticket and its truley black...so i was lucky to get out of that one)
5) wreckless driving again without a seatbelt ( i got that one but it got dropped later in court bc i was an emt at the time and i was enroute to an accident on the freeway)

I pay 299 for 6 months for a 97 RS but I am 43. ( It is my son's car). When he turns 16 insurance will cost 1200 for 6 months on this car! with Alfa. Are there cheaper places for a 16 yr old?

most of you are lucky...granted my car isnt an eclipse, but its a talon so its more or less the same car. 97 talon esi, only 140 hp and i pay 180/month. thats full coverage 100 dollar deductible under my parents plan. im with nationwide...being 16 might have something to do with it also but my record is clean
