I noticed on our new SEQ. that when you accelerate the oil pressure goes up, butr when you let off the gas it goes down to about a quarter full.
Took it today to service and they said that it would level off once the newness wore off (I never heard of this), but if the oil; pressure gauge went up and down real fast that we shold bring it in.
Have you folks ever heard of this?
Thanks

I just brought my 2003 Sequoia in for service. Dealer replaced the oil pressure sensor. If the needle go dowm to the "rest" point when engine is runing then your oil sensor needs to replace.
The needle must be at 1/4 mark when the engine is in idle, and move up when you accelerate. This is a normal condition. My is 2700 miles on it.

Yes, with 4000 miles on it (and on long trip) needle was registering no pressure. Took car to dealer in Manhattan (yes -- NYC) (we live in OHIO), and they replaced the guage -- they did this ONE DAY before New Year's Eve -- can you imagine even getting us in? The result? No charge! Get yours fixed.

i recently had the same problem where my oil pressure normally reads 3/4 and now in idle it is L. I took it in and the service dept said that this is a problem with the '03 and '04 sequoias and tundras. there is nothing wrong with the oil pressure, but there is a problem with the electronic guage. he even gave me a notice that was sent to them from Toyota manufacturers that stated this problem. the new part was ordered and ofcourse there is no charge for the repair.
