1996 Honda Accord LX Sedan

Hey, I have 1996 Honda Accord LX Sedan, I've noticed, sometimes, the radio just suddenly turns off and on, and the Gauges' needles were jumping like crazy, and I've noticed, another thing, whenever I am pushing the gas pedal up to about 20mph and let it go, that problem occurs, it doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes, unpredictably, can someone help me? what can I do? does it mean something's wrong with the fuses? or the battery? thanks in advance.

hehe, same thing happened to me on my travels home during a snowstorm... was driving along, hit a patch of ice and went off the road... called the police, and got a towtruck to pull me back onto the highway.. and due to having all my internals on for the 2 hours it took to get me back on the road (only 5 min of actual towing $60).. my battery was dead and needed a jump... well go the car running and no damage, due to the soft snowbanks. and I'm driving along about 5 min later the lights dim, the guages go dead, and radio dies... it freaked me out... and about every 5-10 min it happened.. so I turned all my accessories off... it still happened, then when I got back to my dorm stopped the car to dig myself a space... went to get back in the car.. and nothing..... pop the hood and guess what? the idiot who jumped my car actually poped the positive wire off the battery, luckily the battery had enough juice to start my car again, so I could run it, and get a decent charge in it... I recently replaced the battery so all's good here.

yeah, it was those build-ups from the battery, those green powders, green build-ups that caused the electrical to shuts off unexpetectedly.

they do have cleaning kits for battery terminals.. looks like a cap you'd put on a gas tank to a lawn mower, but it has some stiff metal bristles in it, so you stick it on and twist a few times... my father bought it to clean off the terminals on all our cars, and tractor.

battery post brushes/cleaners. You can find them pretty much anywhere. I suggest using some dielectric grease too. It help the transfer from your battery post to your terminals. Not something that is necessary on your battery posts, but it's just something that's nice to rub on.
