LS seats into 89 civic Hatch

ok, I got a buncha flat bar to make brackets for these seats to get em to fit. i got an idea on how to do the fronts but how do you bolt down the rear??? the tracks are too long so how can i make it bolt up??

thanx man, i'm sure that will help out a bit, theres one thing tho, when i sat my seats in my car and had the one hole lined up, these tracks were way 2 wide, like 3 inches 2 wide it seemed, would it still be fine to drill through the floor? or will i end up drilling through something??

Directly below the seats there is NOTHING to drill through, except floor.

I've had the seats like that for nearly a year now, and never had a problem with them... Although I might go back and weld in some 'actual' mounts while I have my car apart and rebuilding.

The real key about drilling out that hole and using a bolt and some washers as a substitute mount is to make sure you get all the rails level with eachother so that they slide properly without any trouble. or rather... since you'll be using the front mouting holes, which will already be level with eachother... just make sure that the back rails are even too.

For the bolt that you drill through the floor, I recommend using two nuts on the bolt... torque one down to the bolt, and then torque the second nut down to the first nut. This will keep them from shaking loose and falling off over time.

good luck drilling thru the floor..I wouldn't personally do that, since the floor prolly isn't reinforced enough to handle the loads placed on the seat during a crash. I would modify the rails on the seat to get them to bolt to the OEM holes, but if you are comfy with it go right ahead :thumbsup:

well the way the brackets are made, i have 3 of them bolted into the stock holes, theres only one goin thru the floor, thats all

I drilled right through the OEM seat holes just as easy as I did the floor... and yeah, at present, I only have the one of the three mount points that is secured through the floor... the rest are in the stock positions. Before I'm done putting my car back together though, I'll probably weld in a length of 1X1 steel tubing to the floor to re-enforce it just a little more... but trust me, as it is right now, that seat's going nowhere.

well the seats are all in, they feel really secure too so i hope nothing breaks cuz i love these seats
