I had to cut the front bumper, and the lip so it looked good. i also cut the grill in the front and the mud flaps. Why did they even edd mud flaps, i dont know.
well, heres sum pic, im not done, i still gotta clean it up and i dont wanna rice this one out, maybe my next one, lol

ok, so i just bought tamiya "racing white" and i painted my rims,

THEY CAME OUT YELLOW

the white, is a yellowish colour, its gay

well, im just guna leave it cuz i dont wanna strip any paint, hopefully, it will look good

that was an update, haha

jgmodelcars
02-09-2004, 07:15 PM
well this has happened to my brother before. It didn't come out yellow, what happened was the paint actually bonded with the yellow well and the yellow is showing through, you just need to do one or two more coats. I did this with red plastic once. Good luck.

im talking about the rims, i primered before i painted, its not so bad tho, not too yellow. Im not talking about the colour the rims were and the white not covering it, im talking about the white just not being a nice clean white. it was probably just the lighting tho, lol, and im probly just retarded, lol. HAHA i was guna post pics but i have minor problems, lil bubbles appeared. i hate painting, lol, easy to fix tho cuz they're small and just on the outside, no worries.

ill fix it, and put a really light coat over it, why is it so haard for acompany to make a white paint, what the hell. some white dont cover other colours, some arent white, sum are weird. i have yet to come by a company that makes white the way it should be made, WHITE, not yellow, none of that, just a nice WHITE colour. err, gets me angry, but w/e. lol

the rims will be done by tommorow, ill put pics up tommorow, and the body willl take like 3-4 days to finish, damn long painting process,
ok, so i was at my hobby shop, and i see tamiya black, then i look down and notice metallic black. i was all *oooo aaaah* so i got metallic black and thats the colour my body will be. hope it all turns out good

theres just a lil update, haha

good times

From what I hear, Tamiya's Racing White is actually more of a "racing cream" Maybe try Tamiya's Pure White, or pick up some testors Gloss White, it comes out Nice as long as you no how to use testors rattle cans.

Just a suggestion but if the body is going to be black, you might want to add a bit more color to your interior, because a solid black interior with black exterior makes for an extremely dark car. Maybe add a bit of red to your door panels, red seats, just my 2 cents.

SeCrEtMoDdEr
02-09-2004, 09:53 PM
im just trying to make a sleeper kind of look, i still need to put the recaro decal on my seats and i might do sum more red accents, im looking for a really dark kinda look. im also modelling this after wut my car will look like once i get it, (bout 2 years SOO LONG) so i dont wanna do a LOT of interior cuz i dont want it to be a show car. i might do sum red seat buckle thingies and maybe sum more red accents, but not too much.

i understand where you're coming from though

lol

SonyMobile
02-11-2004, 07:43 PM
There we go, the red seats will make a big difference once the body is on, I think it would have been way to dark with black seats, black interior, and black body, I think this will look a lot better man.

SeCrEtMoDdEr
02-11-2004, 07:49 PM
thnx all, i tried to fit on the rim today and because i lowered it, everythings all screwy and i lost interest in the lowering today. im too lazy to paint as well. lol. but tommorow i might finish all the body fixing and start to paint.

thats a maybe though

Awresum Dom.

I loves me some red seats, I did my rx-7's in red. It's coming together very well, but you should start painting the body. It's hard to keep your patience if you paint the body at the end, when you have nothing else to work on.

SeCrEtMoDdEr
02-12-2004, 06:50 PM
yah, thnx sony for the red seat idea. i was guna do it before, and you telling me to motivated me, lol, yah i should paint the body, im soo lazy,i cant paint today, maybe tommorow, or maybe not, lol

w/e we'll see
hopefully ill prime tommorow

Looks very nice lowered. How much did u lower?I built 2 of this prelude before.

I found that if built box stock the wheels kind of pops out of the fender a little.

With only lowering the tires would top against the fenders.

but it looks like you have also fixed that problem by moving ur wheels inwards tucking them behind the fenders. good job.

SeCrEtMoDdEr
02-19-2004, 08:06 PM
i had lots and lots of problems doing it

the wheels dont roll tho :(

i dont really care cuz its a model, i had to cut soo much and i couldnt get the wheels to be straight while still being tucked under the fender. i finally got it right tho.

those pics are just how low i wanted it, the wheels arent straight but on the actual chassis, i made em straight.

did you paint the preludes or did you leave them yellow?why havent you posted them on AF. Im looking for other aoshima preludes but i've only found one that was painted a different colour on the internet.

also, i think im not guna put a wing on it, im guna leave it stock so its clean

Sorry if i stole ur thread.

I posted my first progress thread in late december. That was also around my 3rd post in AF. so i guess I was a fairly new guy around...

Ill show you some pics of my prelude.

http://www.image-hosting.net/images/messageboard/demo/Picture%20003.jpg
Built for myself. box stock except wheels and i only used 1 racing seat.

These are both the aoshima Jun Auto Prelude. The reason that i didnt use the advan RGs is that they seemed too big for my taste and i didnt like the way it protrudes out the fenders when i tried them on...

Oh yea sorry for the BIG pictures of my white prelude. I took these long time ago and my camera was in a different settings...I never had a way to resize it. So many sorries!! "-_-

i like your blue one, but did you notice how far out the lip thing sticks out on the side, like when you put it in, i modified mine and i molded it to the bumper, i thought that would look cooler.
hey how did you do that CF. that looks nice, can you tell me?
and last question, lol, where did you get that wing from, my lude came with a different ricey kinda wing.

The only thing i did to the front lip spoiler was filling any gaps that existed between it and the bumper.

Leaving the sides sticking out also seem to help me hide the wheels within the overall width of the body

Or i just like how it looks the lip is being bolted on

to make the cf i first masked the fenders, bumpers and other close by part then airbrush tamiya X18, after that dries airbrush XF56 through a mesh, after that dries i finally airbrush X19 on top to make it darker and to protect the pattern..

SeCrEtMoDdEr
02-20-2004, 12:00 AM
ok well i dont have an airbrush :(

lol

i found that the lip is too low compared to the rest of the body so im addign a VERY lil side skirts and back skirt.

just to even out the front lip with the rest of the car.
