spark plug burning off

I have a 1997 s-10 with a 4 cylinder engine. The spark plug on the #3 cylinder keeps burning off. It seems to have good compression on that cylinder because it blows the spark plug completely out. The engine did at one time before this happened ran low on oil but is not burning any. Does anyone know what is the problem. The engine does have high miles.(150000)
