If anyone, and I mean anyone has had a similiar problem as I am describing below please contact me with a fix.>>>> Email address below
For the longest time now I have been hearing
this bang come from the rear of my van. I have taken it to about three
mechanics and noone can figure out what the problem is. Of course it
is always dry out when the appointment is set to take the van in. They
drive it, slam on the brakes, and keep it for about 6 hours. I go back
and get charged nothing because they found nothing wrong. Next night I
drive it, it rains and BAM, sounds like someone rear-ended me
everytime I make a stop. Van runs fine other than that noise.
Last year I was having trouble with my abs light
kept coming on. I was driving one night and it was raining. I was
going down a hill, and I felt the van slide a bit even after I had
applied the brake all the way, and instantly my abs light came on. I
turned the van off and the light went out. I started it back up and I
continued down the road,
and as I stopped at a traffic light I heard a *LOUD BANG* in the rear.
It's as if something is slamming into the back of the van. It only
does it when you stop so I know it is something to do with the brakes.
I was afraid to stop normal again so I gradually slowed down and
stopped sooner all the way back home.
Now for the past year i have had this same problem. It is ridiculous.
Whatever it is it sounds like my tire is slamming into the body of the
van when I stop or something is locking up. I took it to a new mechanic and he took the old relay apart and it was soaked with water. How water is getting in I have no idea. He kept the van about 3 days searching and found that something underneath was sagging I assume and was causing the relay to shortage out. He harnessed it up higher, changed the relay. He also changed the bushings. The next day it poured down rain. I drove the van and not once did it do it. So in my opinion he found the problem, and fixed it.
I still have this worry though because after all the rain was gone the next day it seemed like it wanted to do it when I was going down a steep hill with a stop sign at the bottom, when I stopped it seemed as If I wanted to slide, and I heard a small thump in the rear (NOTHING LIKE BEFORE THOUGH) but I feel in just a matter of time when whatever gets wet again I'll be stuck with the same problem again.
Now keep in mind it was a hard rain. If it had been light rain I feel that it "MAY" not have done it. So whatever he harnessed up could have gotten a good soaking cause as I said it was raining hard. Had it not been harnessed up I am almost positive it would have done it as soon as I pulled out of the driveway. It could barely be sprinkling before he serviced it and it would do it guaranteed, and I mean every single time it rains, never fails, and only when it rains.
PLEASE, PLEASE help if you can. If you know of anything else that could be causing this please let me know as this is driving me totally insane. That way if it does happen again I can tell him what he may need to check into. I really think it is a relay problem, cause whatever he did amazed me. The rain the next day proved that he fixed it, but as I said i am worried if water gets in again. I mean how many times am I going to have to fix this problem, and are we even looking into the right problem here.

I also found this on a website: Even though all listed TSB's below are not my model one of them is, and actually some of the others could be my problem. Any ideas at all???????????? PLEASE

Did anyone check to make sure the spare tire is secured tightly? It may also be the winch they use to hold the spare tire in place.
