1990 jeep missing or stalling???

my 1990 cherokee misses or stalls when driveing.what i does is when i'm driving it going about 55 it jerks real bad till i let off the pedal but it will keep doing it when i put my foot back on the gas pedal i have change the plugs,wires cap, rotor button,fuel filter,and put cleaner in gas tank but it is still doing it can somebody please help me with this maybe tell me what else to check............

Check your TPS, fuel pump, and CPS.

I have the exact same problem and the exact same year. I've tried a new fuel pump, distributor, ect.., ect....! Please let me know if you get an answer here. I'm almost to the end of my rope with it...Ltr,

Sounds like it maybe the CPS, Had the same prolbem with my 89 when I installed a new CPS and it turned out to be the Air gap between the sencer and the flywheel was too much. Filed the bolt holes so it would adjust up and down just about 1/16 of an inch and it worked. Havent had any prolbem since. When We put it on a computer it wouldnt read the timing but said all sencers where working.

Crankshaft Position Sensor. It's also known as the Top Dead Center Sensor. Here's an URL for more details. BTW, there's a mistake in the article. It's located on the drivers side of the 4.0L
