Well, im turning 16 next month and my parents and I are both chipping in to get me a 99 Jetta GLS. Now, Im very interested in doing some work on it, or sooping it up, but I have no clue what to do! Is there any where I could go to learn what to do, or maybe anything I could read. I have no idea, anything would help.

If I were you, I'd start out by purchasing a manuel. My husband & I use the Haynes manuel ourselves, but that's for stock replacement type work. I'm sure if you go into any auto parts store, especially ones that sell the "souped up" stuff they'll have better manuels that are more geared to what you're looking for.

Good luck, have fun, and stay safe! ;)

if you plan to tune, don't get a 2.0. get either a 1.8T or a VR6. it may cost more right off the bat, but there's more you can do with those. different people from here will differ on whether they recommend a 1.8T or a VR6, but I've never driven either, so I can't say one or the other. hope you get the right car!
