ive found a 92 vr4 on the internet for sale for 1900. ive contacted the guy and the catch is theres no motor. id like to buy it as a second or a project to fix and then sell towards my 94 but what am i lookin at as far as prices for motors go? can you still buy the factory vr4 sl or base engine? any other suggestions are appreciated
thanks , Cam

I'm iffy on the whole 'buying off the internet'. There's alot that can be wrong with the car that you wont see until it comes.

you can purchase JDM engines off the internet for around 2500.00. Most of these have fewer than 50k miles and come with turbos and tranny. There are some more expensive. Make sure that if you buy the car, that it has a good body and that most everything else is working in the car.

you also have the option to buy new from mitsibushi, but this iss expensive. A short block sells for around 3500.00 then you will need the rest of the stuff. For this car, a JDM may be the way to go.

yeah you gotta look around cause i actually found this guy who said he'll put in a new engine installed with turbo's and everything for 2 grand flat.
hell i can't remember the name, but i think they were just like that jdm thing there speaking on, thats the way to go.

dynamicracing.com has a vr4 shortblock for 3 grand if I'm not mistaken. It's listed under oem parts, and it may be brand new(!?!)
