First Plastic Model : Revell Civic

Well, here goes my start to the plastic modeling world...lol...not the best things happening with this model, but i guess it will make me learn, im going for the JDM-ish look, CF hood, Chrome yellow paint, black housing lights, Black rims (not enough money to buy SW-388's right now...lol), and uh yea...thats basically it...o and i screwed up on the front bumper when painting it, the bumper tipped over when the paint was wet, real disaster, i got rid of the honda sign from the pics and well stripped it back to plastic... :disappoin

i think it's a great start... without the little bumper fiasco, it'd be an excellent start...

looks like its gonna be cool. You should get a hb and make a replica of your modifier, the sweet little one in your sig.

nice project, but btw if the coupe is your first one, how did you do the hb in your sig?

the hatchback in his sig is a modifier...a metal 1:43 model :evillol:

yea, i basically started with those Modifiers, by doing custom body work to them and paint jobs, but with them being 1:43 scale and metal, it was a real paint to modify them :icon16: , i started doing basically anything to cars in like July 2003, so i have less than a year experience with modifiers and now starting with plastic models, well here are some updates, i stripped the front, and got rid of the Honda Emblem since it was filled with primer and paint :mad: ...

o and to Zwaag, i would do my hatchback, BUT, i would need an integra front, Accord lights, would have to indent the plastic like i did to the metal on my modifier, and would need some Racing Hart CX rims :sunglasse , if you guys want to see more pictures of my Modifier Civic Hatchback go to die cast modeling i believe its called, i got a thread on it, i won 2nd place on the Modifiers Annual Best Modified Modifier Contest...shouldve won 1st but, u kno, cough rigged cough... :disappoin

Zwaag, thanx but no, ima try to start out easy on these models, move from JDM to rice...if you know what i mean...ok i worked on the CIvic a little more, painted the body, still needs one more coat of paint but i ran out of paint, same with the back bumper, still needs more paint...i primered the front bumper again, and took off the Honda Emblem, RS grill now :evillol:

Hmm, well, I hate to get into this drift thing, so I'll state it, FWD cannot drift. They can ''ass-drag'' but not drift. That's my position on it. Hope to see some more progress on this coupe, thought about cutting out the back seat to drop some weight?

I think he means different models...he is gonna do some JDM models, then he will do some drift models (240s etc.)

Ok, i found some Recaro's from an ITR Die Cast Model that i have, the seats aren't the best quality (lots of mold lines) and the seat belt hole thingies aren't cut so ima cut those out :smokin: ,seats will be Cardinal Red from Dupli Color, o and here are the rims i will be using, i will be painting those rims black...bought black Dupli Color Spray Paint today, and hoping to get more Chrome yellow, Tamiya Masking Tape, Tamiya Cement, and black bottle paint tomorrow...

Those seats aint painted yet, they are going to be Cardinal Red, which is a darker red...o and your ITR is sick man, props on that... :evillol:

I like it a lot. very clean mods to the front bumper, love the open grille! This is going to be an excellent build up, expecially for your first model!

i painted the rims black just now, i've gotten really good with Spray paint :iceslolan , im in the process of painting the interior, but first need that Chrome Yellow to paint the engine bay first then tape it up and paint the interior...is that the way to do it :uhoh: ?

I wish i had an airbrush, to mix silver with copper to give those disk breaks a really realistic look :iceslolan

On the black roof, I have to say nay. With the color scheme you have going I dont think it would look to well, it would almost blend in too much.

I wouldn't do it black. If you don't want to decal the hood for CF, you could get a dark gray or black metallic paint. It's closer than just regular black.

ok ok i wont paint the roof black :disappoin , about the hood, ima try my best to do accomplish putting the CF on it, i've heard bad things about that CF decal, things like "ITS A BITCH" :eek: , lol...if not i will try to find some metallic really dark gunmetal or a really dark grey, thanx for Ozzy for the advice, im getting Silver afterschool, painting my disk breaks and my engine :p

actually today i passed by Image Anime (www.imageanime.com) in NYC, and bought some stuff to keep on my journey since i was out of paint, tonight i will do major work, but unfortunately i wont have the digicam since my parents are going to a concert and are taking it :mad: , well here is what i bought today,

Well, lastnight i got done painting the body, still need one more coat on the front bumper, will blow dry the paint a bit more to then clear it, i got the interior taped up waiting to color match the engine bay, the seats were modified (sanded the back flat and i opened up where the seat belts pass through), the rims were painted black then made flat...feedback please...
