93 trans am stalling SOMEONE DO SOMTHING

My '93 trans am continues to stall when I'm sitting at a light or right before I go to hit the gas.

I do run the car a high rates of speed and find I have most difficulty after I drive like this. But that's my style.

I'm also getting lights on the dash such as LOW TRAC and SECURITY. Then these lights dissappear. Especially right before I get the car to the mechanics. They've not been able to diagnose a problem. But people who sit in my car can attest to it's stalling tactics. :banghead:

Since I don't run around with a toolbox in my hand, can someone out there who's a GOOD MECHANIC take the wheel over and provide a helping hand? :grinno:

Sounds like a similar situation I encountered a while ago. I had a small leak in my trnasmission cooler lines and didn't realize it until I damn well burned up my trans. I put in a 2800 stall and thought I torqued all the line clamps snug, but guess I didn't. Oops! I had the same thing happen to me. After I ran it hard and stopped at a light the RPM's would waver up and down and if I didn't watch it- the damn thing would stall. At any rate, I added fluid and clamped all lines down and I haven't had it stall again. Amazing since, I was near empty on my trans fluid. Guess these things can take a lickin' and keep tickin'. At any rate... if push came to shove I found a good trans shop that has a trans diagnosis computer they hook up in your OBD port and can monitor the driving conditions of your trans.... lock up and shift points. The mechanic told me, it might be the internal clutch that slips out of lock out or when it engages is what makes it stall. In that case, if the internal clutch in your automatic (which I'm assuming you have) is bad, you'll have to rebuild the tranny. But like I said, first, check the fluid and top if needed, wouldn't hurt to change fluid and filter at that point, perhaps run a synthetic trans oil like B&M or Redline. If that doesn't fix... take it to a reputable tranny shop that can do this type of diagnosing. (just my $0.02)
